Static Mixer

« Back to Glossary Index

A device which consists of a series of internal baffles or elements within a plastic tube. As adhesive components are forced through the mixer, the components are repeatedly divided and recombined, thus creating a complete and uniform mixture. Most static mixers attach in one of two ways: a “bell-mouth” type which requires a retaining nut or a “twist-and-lock” (bayonet) type which requires no additional hardware.
